I’m quite angry now. No doubt some of you have heard about what happened to my not-so-dear-anymore PC. For those who haven’t, here’s the account in full. I am unhappy with the service given to me by this company and I am fully disappointed that such a thing could happen.
On Tuesday, 2nd May, my computer was “diagnosed” by my father to have suffered a hardware failure. I, however, was fully unaware of it. My dad sent the computer to the repair shop.
The problem was identified as a motherboard failure. Therefore, a replacement in motherboard would solve the problem. He said they would do a backup to play safe.
I thought nothing bad could happen as they were doing a backup and they were replacing the motherboard, which theoretically would not affect all my apps and data.
Boy was I wrong
Fast forward to Friday, 5th May. I got the shock of my life when, upon start up, my account was nowhere in sight. Click on C: and there’s no sign of my apps. All that was left was the documents.
EVERYTHING WAS GONE. NO PHOTOSHOP, NO WARCRAFT, NO iTUNES. EVERYTHING.
Why am I so upset? Firstly, I regretted not being there to give the repairman my instructions. It was partially not his fault for the loss of data.
However, as a computer repairman, he should know better than to only back up documents and not applications. Furthermore, I gave my sysadmin password for him to configure. What he configured, God alone knows. I am severely upset that he took my sysadmin password, reconfigured everything, left me hanging with all my applications missing, no sysadmin account and basically everything screwed up. I am pissed that I got such bad service from someone who is supposed to be well versed in computer repair techniques. Think about it this way. I’m lost and I find my way back home but I don’t have house keys. It’s the same. He saved my documents but not the applications to open those documents. Dumb or dumber, you decide. I am just really upset now. I’m not in a jovial mood. Please do NOT provoke/irritate me about this topic, as I will not hesitate to do something drastic to you. Those who love to suan should also watch it. If you do cross my path with regards to this matter, rest assured you’ll get a mouthful from me.
