Don’t Know Why…

Posted in Updates. on February 28, 2007 by caleb.

I’m feeling pretty heavy tonight. I don’t know why. I can’t find the source of it, the root of it all. I’m not really sad, and not actually tired, just weighed down by something I can’t quite describe.

Hmm…

‘See-and-Why’ part II.

Posted in Happy., Information., Updates. on February 21, 2007 by caleb.

Due to the fact that many people liked part 1, and the CNY holidays officially drew to a close yesterday, I have decided to follow up with ‘See-and-Why’ part II.

Before I go any further, here’s a disclaimer. I did not take part in any ‘See-and-Why-ing’ of any sort. The title of this post, as well as the previous one, was inspired by a certain friend, who ‘Saw-and-Why-ed’ one Chinese New Year. Just for the record, he didn’t get smacked.

So yesterday was the last day of CNY holidays. I would say I enjoyed myself, and I’m sure others did too. Some of us spent the late afternoon and evening at Amanda’s place, chilling out, having dinner, watching Scary Movie, and just having a good time of fellowship. I enjoyed it.

Thanks for having us all over, Amanda. Must’ve been quite taxing on you, and your mom.

So it’s that time of the year again where everyone goes back to school. Some take a few days’ MC after all the goodies, and some just don’t have any mood for school this week.

It’s that time of the year again, where people check if they’ve gained weight from all the goodies. I know you didn’t, Jan. Hahahah.

Okay people, seriously. Please really take care of yourselves and don’t fall sick, okay? (:

See-And-Why.

See-And-Why is here. CNY. Chinese New Year. Get it?

It’s that time of the year again when everyone wears red, whether they support Chelsea, Man Yoo, Liverpool, Barcelona or Real Madrid.

It’s that time of the year again where Mandarin Oranges are the number-one, most-consumed fruit.

It’s that time of the year again where everybody lines up outside Bee Cheng Hiang for Barbecued Pork (Bak Gwa).

It’s that time of the year again where some people eat too much New Year’s goodies, and end up falling ill. All you readers, take care of yourself alright?

It’s that time of the year again (seemingly the only time) when kids enjoy math (eh, Mandy, I know you’re different. You LOVE math. Ugh.), while counting their money.

And it’s that time of the year again when people get hongbao (red packets), see the inside of it, and ask “why so little?”, then get smacked. See-and-Why. (:

Have a blessed Chinese New Year.

It was a lonely Valentine’s Day.

Good news!!!

Police have arrested both thieves who were involved in the dishonest misappropriation of my bag and the stuff in it. They will be charged soon, this according to the inspector who called me today.

The bad news is the thieves sold all the valuables: Camera, Lenses, iPod, and in-ear monitors (read earphones). Get this, the thief sold my camera to a 2nd hand dealer for $80. Must’ve been desperate. Naturally, the shop got business fast and the camera was snapped up for a major profit.

The good news is God answers prayer. He really does. The police inspector told me I should be getting compensation for the whole incident, that should cover costs of the sold valuables. Also, most of the non-replacables are still in the bag (my FoofPod was apparently sold, though.)

More coming soon. Shawn and Jem convinced me: I should write a testimonial.

V_Day.

Posted in Sad. on February 13, 2007 by caleb.

So tomorrow is Valentine’s Day.

This has been one rough week. It started real rough, and I guess it’s just lightening up a little. I feel really downtrodden, especially when people (who don’t know about my incident) ask me about my camera.

It doesn’t help when people ask me questions pertaining to the incident, of which the answers are blatantly obvious. A good example (read horrendous question asked before thinking properly) would be “where did it happen?” Doesn’t it clearly state “Netspiel – Prinsep Street”? Is there really such a need to go into the obvious? I mean, if you ask out of ignorance, it’s fine. You ask me after reading my blog; I have nothing to say.

Really. A horrible week. I’m just thankful for good friends who try their best to console me, and show their concern. To these friends, you know you’ve done something really nice for me, and I’m duper grateful. Continue to keep this matter in prayer. Pray that I will be able to recover my stuff intact, and that the thief will be apprehended.

Like it or not, I have to face the worst case scenario: I never get the bag back. Today, I reflected. I might be able to live without a camera (but it would be REALLY sad), or an iPod (which would be quite sad too, with all the songs we need to learn for e-gig), but what of the stuff inside that cannot be replaced? Letters, notes, gifts, information, photos not yet offloaded.

So tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, and it’s going to be a lonely one…

Losses.

Posted in Sad. on February 12, 2007 by caleb.

I’ve lost so much within these three days that it’s unbelievable.

Date of loss: 11/2/2007 (Sunday)
Location: Netspiel – Prinsep Street.
Time of loss: Approx 4-5pm
Cause of loss: Theft.

Items lost:
One Canon EOS 30D DSLR – S. No.: 1130809013
One EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens
One EF 50mm f/1.8 lens – S. No.: 21136783
One Tamrac Digital Toploader 5314-series
One Lowepro Lens Case LC1S
One Giotto’s Rocket Air blower
One Canon body cap
Two pairs of front and rear caps
One Hoya 58mm HMC filter

All this inside one Gun-metal gray Crumpler Western Lawn

Other items lost:
iPod 4th gen 20GB w/ Foofpod case,
Westone UM1 in-ear monitors,
Rhema notebook,
letters, notes, keys (not to my house), thumbdrive,
other unlisted items.

This is but the material side of things. Some of the stuff in my bag holds sentimental value. Such items cannot be replaced. Letters and notes cannot be re-written, for instance. The Rhema notebook holds special value to me. The iPod has been with me for three years. The Foofpod case was a birthday gift. There are photos in the camera that haven’t even been offloaded onto the computer. So many things that you just can’t measure in cash value, and this villain has gotten away with this evil act. Blame it on oversight by David and myself, but still, this thief sure is one helluva jerk.

Ha. Maybe I’ll have the last laugh. My Bible’s inside too. I hope he either gets saved or gets freaked out of his wits.

This thief has gotten away with so much, so much more than just cash value. I pray he will be apprehended and dealt with.

Pray with me.
Pray that I will find what I lost. Firstly, some of the stuff in there means a lot to me. Secondly, the other stuff in there also costs a lot financially. True that these are temporal, but it really hurts, and I’d really like to find these back.
Pray with me that the thief will not get away with this. He has practised covetousness and theft. Pray that he will be brought to justice.

I just feel devastated. It’s like when you’re just getting up, you get shot in both knees and go down again, face down into the dirt.

I just need some form of output.

RAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Leave me alone unless you can talk serious, and you think I trust you. I’ll reply if you qualify.

Weekend again.

Posted in Thank yous/Encouragements., Updates. on February 9, 2007 by caleb.

No complaints from me here. The weekend is here again! And to double that joy, school’s finally done! To triple that joy, Darren’s getting his new camera this Sunday, and I’m going with him! Aiya, enough. You can see I’m quite happy. Haha.

Song of the week: Unwell – Matchbox Twenty

Random amusing thing of the week: Dreams about church people.

Game of the week: Snowcraft.

Event of the week: School’s out!

People of the week:
Josh, who got an amazing 8 points.
Lanz, who got an amazing 7 As.
David and Keith, who scored decently well.
Daniel Heng and Meryl, for helping me out of the emo zone, for praying for me, and for giving some great advice.
God, for another great, productive week full of ups and downs. Emotions, blessings, surprises. Everything. It’s so easy to get on with life and just let it pass us by, but I stop right now and just think of how God was in control the past week, and continues to be in control right now, over my life.

A few things have just happened, just this evening. They may have soured the evening, but I am concerned, and so I will share.

A friend of mine called, and what she said deeply worried me. She asked me to buy cigarettes for her boyfriend. What was especially alarming is that she’s a Christian (or claims to be one), and she has a boyfriend who smokes. I just don’t know what to do or say. I had to say no.

To you, my friend, if you ever read this, know that I still care for you, and it breaks my heart to see you becoming what you are now. You weren’t always like this. You used to be so teachable, and your walk was strong. Now, I can only pray and hope that you will not drift too far away. I can’t meet you. I can’t talk to you, but I can pray, and I promise you I will.

So don’t drift anymore,
No, don’t drift anymore
But if you must
I’ll still wait here for your return

A few of my friends didn’t do so well for their O levels. To these friends of mine, I really feel with you. I want you all to know that all is not lost. The best you all can do with what you have, is to just pick up the pieces and move on.

Pray. Pray for direction, pray for God’s hand and favour upon your next step. You can be assured that I will be praying for you, with you. Take care, guys.

In other news, Valentine’s Day is coming. I will be dating no one, except the PA board in Level 3 hall on Wednesday night. How bleddy romantic right? =) Adios people; have a great weekend.

Another dream(?)

Posted in Updates. on February 9, 2007 by caleb.

I had yet another weird dream, man. And yet again, it was about church people. Hmm. Strange, I tell you, especially since it was two nights in a row. I wonder whether I’ll dream about anything tonight.

Anyway, last night, I dreamt we were having cell. I wasn’t having cell and I was just wandering around this place that we were having cell in. Jan and Jessie were in the dream, and they weren’t having cell either. There was Joshua Lim. I can’t really recall anyone else. Faces, but not any I can remember now.

Okay, this place we were in: it felt like a few HDB flats(?) It’s like, there were two flats at the end of the corridor, then two more doors on the corridor itself. We were having cell in these few flats. I was in the flat at the end of the corridor with Jan & Jessie, just talking. Joshua Lim (and his cell, I assume) were next door. That’s all I remember. I can’t recollect anything about the other two flats, except the further one seemed to lead to my home(!?!). Like, it didn’t get to home straight away, but after walking through a few doorways (inside the flat itself) I found myself in my room.

Really, strange dreams I’ve been having.

“I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell.”
